Your photos are one of the first things people notice about your profile, but it can be tricky to know which ones to add. So, we asked our research team and our data scientists for tips on how to add the right photos to attract the right people.
6 is the golden number
It’s official: more photos means more likes. Profiles with 6 photos are nearly 2x more likely to get likes than a profile with just 3 photos, according to our data scientists. More photos help people get a better sense of who you are, making them more likely to want to get to know you.
Show off your interests
Photos that show you doing things you love, whether it's your favorite sport, restaurant, or activity, will make you more likely to match. People tell our research team that photos like this are much less about how you physically appear, and more about giving signals as to the kind of person you are.
Mix them up
Add photos with different angles, solo and group shots, selfies, ones taken indoors and outdoors—the more variety, the better. Our data shows people are more drawn to profiles with a mix of photos like these, because it means a much more authentic view of you.
Put your most recent snaps up top
And last but not least, put your newer photos at the top of your profile. The ones you feel best about, that were taken most recently. The photos at the top of your profile are seen more often, so you want these ones especially to be the most joyful, accurate reflection of you right now.
So there we have it. You’ve got great energy, make sure your photos show it. Consider updating them if you haven’t in a while, and let the right person find you.
