You can make voice and video calls directly from the Bumble app, so you can get to know your matches safely and confidently, without rushing into an in-person meet-up.
Calls are a fun, low-pressure way to make the first move or simply get a better sense of someone. There’s no need to exchange phone numbers, so your personal details stay protected if the connection isn’t the right fit.
Calling also helps you skip long texting threads and build a connection more naturally. It’s a great opportunity to show off something you love, like a pet or a hobby, and spark a more meaningful chat.
How it works
You’ll first need to match with someone to make a call. After matching, a video icon and a phone icon will appear in the top-right corner of your chat. Making a call can count as a ‘first move’. In heterosexual matches, if you don’t see the call icons yet, it means the woman has chosen to make the first move, and the icons will appear once she’s done so. For same-gender or non-binary matches, either person can initiate a call.

Can I disable calls?
We don't currently have an option to switch off video and voice calls within the app, but if you no longer wish to receive calls from a specific person, we'd recommend letting them know or unmatching with them if you’re no longer interested.
