Types of notifications you may receive
Depending on your notification preferences, you may hear from us about:
Messages and matches
- New messages: Alerts when you receive a new message from a match.
- New admirers: Lets you know when someone has liked your profile.
- New matches: Lets you know when you and another member have matched.
- Expiring matches: Reminders when one of your matches is about to expire, so you have time to start a chat.
Your profile
- Top profile tips: Tips and recommendations to help you get the most out of your Bumble profile.
Bumble news and opportunities
- Bumble events: Updates about Bumble-hosted events you may be interested in.
- News & updates: Information about new features, app updates, and other Bumble announcements.
- Research & surveys: Opportunities to take part in research or surveys that help us improve the Bumble experience.
How to manage your notifications:
- Open the Bumble app
- Tap the profile icon
- Tap the settings icon in the top-right
- Tap 'Notification settings'
- Choose which notifications you’d like to receive for:
- New messages
- Matches (new admirers, new matches, expiring matches)
- Top profile tips
- Other (Bumble events, marketing communications, research and surveys)
Updating your email address
To update your email address:
Tap the cog icon in the top right corner of your Profile section to access your 'Settings'
Scroll down and tap 'Notification Settings’
Select any of the following options: 'New messages', 'New admirers', 'New matches', 'Expiring matches'
Tap 'Change email address?'
Type the email address you wish to link to your account and tap 'Ok'
Check your inbox for an email with the title ‘Please confirm your email address’ and select the button 'Confirm email' - If you can't find the email in your inbox, please check your spam box
Note: Your login details will remain the same as before, this just updates the email address where you’ll receive notifications.
