If you're having trouble completing Photo Verification, try the troubleshooting steps below to help resolve common issues:
Camera or permission issues
A working camera is essential for Photo Verification, as you’ll need to take a photo of yourself as part of the process.
- Make sure Bumble has permission to access your camera:
- iPhone: Settings → Bumble → Enable Camera
- Android: Settings → Apps → Bumble → Permissions → Enable Camera
- Make sure you’re using the latest version of the Bumble app, then restart your device.
- If your camera isn’t working, try troubleshooting your device’s camera or completing verification on another device.
Selfie or pose not accepted
When taking your verification photo:
- Mimic the pose and hand gesture shown on screen as closely as possible. Both your pose and hand gesture need to match for your photo to be accepted.
- Use good lighting and make sure your full face is clearly visible.
- Avoid hats, sunglasses, filters, or anything else that could obscure your face.
- Make sure you have at least one unobstructed, full-face photo of yourself on your Bumble profile so we can compare it with your verification photo.
- You don’t need to recreate the pose or appearance from your existing profile photo. Simply follow the pose and hand gesture shown during Photo Verification.
Stuck on verification
If the verification page isn’t loading or progressing:
- Force-close and reopen the Bumble app.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Restart your device and try again.
Verification not accepted
You’ll have up to 3 attempts to complete Photo Verification. If your verification isn’t accepted:
- Try again in clearer lighting and make sure your face is unobstructed.
- Double-check that you’re copying both the pose and hand gesture shown on screen.
- Make sure your profile includes at least one clear, unobstructed, full-face photo of you.
- If you’ve used all your attempts and still can’t pass Photo Verification, please contact us.
