Profile prompts are a great way to show off your personality and make your profile stand out. They help you express who you are beyond your photos and make it easier for matches to start meaningful conversations. You can answer prompts with text, or pair them with a photo to give even more context.
How to add or edit prompts
- Open your Bumble profile
- Tap 'Edit Profile'
- Under Prompts, tap ‘Add prompt’
- Choose a prompt from the list
- Type your response (and add a photo if you’d like)
- Tap ‘Add’ or ‘Save’ to publish it to your profile
You can add multiple prompts (up to 3) to your profile, and change them any time!
To preview your profile, open the 'Profile' tab and tap on your profile picture (in the circle). This will show you how your profile appears to others, including your photos, bio, and other details.
Tips for choosing great prompts
Your prompt answers are a chance to show more of your personality and give potential matches something to connect with.
- Make it personal: Choose prompts that feel true to you! Honesty and personality go a long way. Instead of something general, think about the little details, opinions, or stories that say something about who you are.
- Mix it up: Combine text prompts and photo prompts to show different sides of who you are.
- Pair photos wisely: For photo prompts, use pictures that reflect your answer (like a travel shot for “My happy place”).
- Keep it positive: Prompts are conversation starters, so focus on the things you enjoy, care about, or are excited to share with someone.
- Create date potential: Share favourite places, foods, activities, or weekend rituals that help someone imagine what spending time together could be like. Date Night prompts can be a great way to do this.
- Show your humor: Don’t be afraid to be playful. Prompts are a great place to let your personality shine!
