If you no longer want to continue a conversation or simply change your mind about a connection, Bumble makes it easy to unmatch.
How to unmatch:
- Go to your Chats tab
- Tap the chat with the person you’d like to unmatch
- In the chat screen, tap the three dots (top right)
- Select Unmatch
- Choose a reason (optional) and confirm
Once you unmatch, the conversation will end for both of you, and the person won't be able to contact you again or view the conversation history.
Things to know:
- Unmatching is permanent — the chat and match will be removed immediately, and you can’t undo this
- The other person won’t get a separate notification, but they may still see in Chats that the conversation has ended
- You can also report someone when you unmatch, if you think they violated our guidelines
- If you want to report someone you’ve already unmatched and no longer have access to their profile or conversation, please reach out to our Support team. Try to include as much detail as possible so we can investigate thoroughly:
- Their name
- Your reason for reporting the member
- Any screenshots of your conversations (if available)
Need to unmatch someone for safety reasons? We recommend using the ‘Report’ option, so our team can review the situation.
