On Bumble, a match expires if no one sends a message within 24 hours of matching. Once a match expires, they’ll have a grey circle around their profile photo (instead of yellow).
How to recover an expired match:
-
Rematch: Matched but missed your chance to message? Bumble’s Rematch feature on Boost and Premium lets you restart the 24-hour timer so you can still make the first move.
- To Rematch, simply tap the member’s profile photo (grey circle) from your match queue and select “Rematch.”
-
Extend: You can give a match an extra 24 hours before it expires. Everyone gets one free Extend per day, and Bumble Boost, Premium, and Premium+ members can extend unlimited matches.
- To use Extend, tap the member’s profile photo (grey circle) from your match queue and select “Extend.”
Tips:
- Turn on notifications so you don’t miss new matches
- Message as soon as you match to show your interest and keep the momentum going
- Use your daily Extend to give yourself more time to start a conversation
